Richard’s art represents his emotional response to his time in the army.

Richard Salter BA (hons) – Fine Art
Born West Yorkshire, 1979. Lives in Devizes, Wiltshire.
Richard Salter has served over 17 years in the British Army. He studied fine art with Buckinghamshire University and has painted throughout his military career whether on operations, training or at home.
Gallery 21 are extremely excited to be working with Richard as his exclusive representative as he looks to forge a path as a career artist in the future when his army days finally come to end.
Richard has painted celebrities, had opportunities to use actors as models, featured in Art magazines and won various awards. He held his first major solo exhibition in York at the beginning of 2014 when both BBC TV and Radio covered the event. Gallery 21 then held a sell-out exhibition later in the year.
Richard feels very privileged to have his work in both private collections and museums. He annually exhibits in the Mall Galleries, London and in Salisbury with the Armed Forces Art Society.

Richard signs his original works with the brass end of a spent shell, all of which have been physically fired through the Army’s standard rifle; 5.56mm L85 (SA80). The dot in the centre of the brass donates where the rifle’s firing pin struck the shell to detonate.All Artists
